Ok, what do you think?
As some of you know, my wife was hurt recently falling in the parking lot at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
In many spots there were small red X's painted on the blacktop and it appears that round holes about the size of silver dollars were bored down through the pavenment in the center of each X mark. Is this some kind of test of the pavement, I wonder?
It was dark and when she stepped down the heel of her shoe caught in one of the holes and twisted her foot causing her fall.
Her group immediately took her to the Palace clinic where a nurse? employed by the Palace bandaged her foot and put her in a wheelchair.
My wife and my daughter both filed accident reports and she was given a phone number with instructions to call the number concerning her medical expenses after she went to the hospital for X-rays and proper treatment.
She has a sprained ankle and two broken bones that had to be reset before a cast was applied. It has been a very painful process and they anticipate that she will be on crutches for aproximately six weeks.
This morning I made our fourth call to the number they (the Palace) provided us and, as usual, was connected to a machine that recorded my explanation and complaint. So far they have refused to respond or even acknowledge our calls.

Happy Monday Folks..... 
Time to shake off that Turkey mood and get back to the real world.
I have to admit, after having 4 days off, I'm really trying hard to find that "lets get back to work" mood myself.
I got to tell you....I'm really glad that the last of the Turkey is gone. Took 3 days to get rid of all the left overs but now I finally have room in the fridge again

Someone on an earlier post stated they couldn’t believe how quickly this year has gone by. I too have noticed that time now seems too past by me way to quickly. I have this theory that once you have children, time goes into warp drive. I never noticed time until my Wife and I had kids, then suddenly without me even realizing it, time began to speed by. Perhaps it’s because as you get older and have children, they consume all of your time. There’s no longer time to relax and enjoy the minutes of the day like you did before them. You begin to work harder and longer hours to provide all that you can for your family. Your time at home becomes all about them, feeding them, dressing them, cleaning up after them, and watching over them, trying to make sure they are safe and happy. Then as they get older it’s becomes, taking and picking them up from school, or play rehearsals, ball practice, running them to the mall or to the movies, you’re running around so much that you don’t notice time going by until it’s already gone. If I could change one thing in my life (besides smoking) I believe this would be it. I’d slow everything down, relax more, make my kids give up a few perks so we could spend more quality time together as a family and do less rushing around. I’d try to slow time down. As it is now, the years have gone by like days and the days like seconds. Children are a blessing and my boys have given my wife and I such joy and happiness, but sadly there seems to be one thing you can count on happening when you have kids, time speeds up. One day you’re holding this baby in your arms and in the blink of an eye your letting go of this marvelous person you’ve created and suddenly you notice….you’ve gotten old and you find yourself asking the question, where did all of the time go? |
